A former Chairman of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria
(PMAN) Abuja Chapter , Dovie Okson Mena (a.k.a Baba 2010) has called
on young musicians to use music and lyrics as tool to preach for
sustainable peace and development in the country.
He made this call in Abuja on Thursday during an interactive session
with journalists on the activities he has lined up for the forthcoming
‘Valentine Day’ .

According to him “we are the role model in the society and we need to
preach peace and love through trhough our music particularly young
musicians “ He expressed displeasure on the orgy of violence going on
in the different part of the country noting that there can never be a
meaningful development in the atmosphere of crisis. He called on
Nigerians irrespective of their religion or ethnic affiliation to bury
their differences and live in peace.

“There is crisis in the north, west and south and it is high time we
laid down our arms and embrace peace and show love to our neighbours
in the interest of the country.”
Dovie called on the leadership of the PMAN to put their house in order
and work with unity and sincerity of purpose in the interest of
association.

He called for more collaboration in the fight against piracy adding
that the growing menace in the activities of the pirates is worrisome
that needed urgent measures. “Nigerian should assist in protecting
copyright work by giving adequate information to law enforcement
agents .”
He commended the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) . He disclosed
that Maxino Lounge and Bar would it’s celebrate one year anniversary
with different activities for couples and lovers as part of the
activities to mark this year Valentine Day. He called on well meaning
Nigerians to show love particularly to the less privilege as a way of
giving back to the society.
