After God made the first man and woman who together brought forth Cain and Abel, there was no record of any other living being (atleast as we know).

After Cain was banished from God's presence, the scriptures testify of him getting a wife…

16.And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

17. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he built a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

Any ideas on how his wife came about?

Haha, I will give you another one. Joshua commanded the sun to stand still, implying that the sun goes round the earth.

Also in the Genesis creation story, plants were created before there was even a sun, apparently in the Bible plants don't need sunlight grin
