It's rubbish. Noisy and doesn't cool well enough. Basically a glorified fan. 2 Likes |

There are different types of evaporative air coolers , we have the indirect and the direct. The indirect supply cool air without humidifying the space while the direct supply cool while humidifying the space. To cut the story short, Indirect is effective in hot humid climate like the southern parts of Nigeria while the direct works well in hot and dry climate like the Northern part of Nigeria or desert environments. The common ones in Nigerian market are the potable direct evaporative coolers. The advantages of the air cooler is in low energy consumption compared to the air conditioner but it doesn't cool like the air conditioning system, although if properly used can bring the temperature of a room down to a comfortable level. Another disadvantage is in the water consumption, so if you don't have enough water supply it's not advisable. I stay in the Southern part and I use the potable one and it's still serve it's purpose during the hot weather but it's totally useless during cold season. |
