Barr Paul Edeh, a visionary Abuja based lawyer from Idoma land, who works with the even more popular Abuja radio show Hembelembe hosted by the Ordinary President, Dr Ahmed Isah, have taken the vision to sow the seed that will eventually grow to become the much needed Idoma United FC.

The event kicked off with a football tournament organised in honour of his late father Captain S Ankwa who died in July 2016.
The opening ceremony on the 18th February 2017 was graced by two Nigerian ex international players, Garba Lawal and Emmanuel Babayaro and the flamboyant politician, Young Alhaji.

The tournament is aimed at integrating the local teams to sort out crop of fine players that will transmit to the first team of the Idoma United FC.

In a meeting between local coaches and the ex internationals, Garba Lawal stressed the importance of discipline amongst players and the coach. That without discipline no player will go far in his playing career. They also stressed the importance of unity amongst the players and teams.

The meeting ended with a question and answer session between the ex players and the coaches.
