Some untold truths about the FUTO protest! by SubtleFRED(m): 2:26pm On Feb 20, 2017
FUTO students have been making rounds on social media recently for the protest they did on Friday or riot as many would term it.

News channels, blogs and many social platforms all carry the news but not in full wink
Here are some of the truths they forgot/didn't tell the world.

1. It was a peaceful protest until security officials picked up the protest leader
It all started at about 7am that Friday when students grouped together from the four corners of the school and started the peaceful protest which remained so until security officials picked up the leader of the protest around the school's Biochemistry department building. Students then went on rampage cos we all are Nigerians and know fully well what happens after such kinda pick ups.

2. The Vice Chancellor's convoy ran away twice
Rather than coming out to address the protesting students hours before the protest turned violent, the VC fled the school firstly at the school's main gate after sighting he students and secondly close to the Macho man statue also close to the school's senate building.

3.The students protested for more than school fees hike
The school management didn't hike the school fees only, they also gave students a deadline(being that friday) to pay up or attract a lateness fee of #10,000. Who does that considering the current economic situation of the country. angry
The students were pained to their marrows cos they could feel the pains of their parents and some go through alot to raise the fees.

4. We pay for the supposed reason of increase yearly
We've been paying ICT fees of #8000 and I still wonder if such amount isn't enough to provide Wifi for us.

5. The protest leaders are past SUG executives
Most of the students leading the protests are past executives and this should give us a little sense of thought that they've seen the corruption in the system and were maybe silenced during their tenure.

NB: The current ongoing protest is for the release of the protest leaders.

Cc: Lalastical, fynestboi pls help tell the world that FUTO students are not rouges.

lalasticalala, let this hit FP. The students side of the protest must be told.

The annoying things about Nigerian media outlets is that they'll rather talk about the rampage of the students and only briefly meniton the cause.

That doesn't mean the students should not use it if it's their only means of making the management listen.
