When you start to strive for success in your life, always remember that God wants you to prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2). For some years now, the Lord has been stressing this. When you get to the top, and you occupy a lofty physical position among men, you must also occupy a strong spiritual position because it is that spiritual position that will sustain your lofty physical position among men. There are three positions that exist: the physical position, the demonic position and the divine position. If you have taken the lessons and processes that God has drawn out for you very seriously, then as you climb higher in life physically, you will also occupy stronger positions in the spirit.

God never planned that any of His children will attain heights that they cannot sustain spiritually because the devil will always attack whatever is God’s. However, many Christians boycott the spiritual development that God set up for them only to get to their lofty physical positions and be disgraced by the devil. That was what happened to Saul, the first king of Israel. He became king but when Goliath showed up, his emptiness and inadequacies gave him up because he didn’t comply with the spiritual process that God laid down for him.

God gave Moses the description of who could be the king of Israel and what the king must do regularly; how the king must not joke with his time in the presence of the Lord. The king was to make a personal copy of the law for himself and study it regularly. Most of the books that are marketed these days teach success and wealth principles by men that don’t regard God’s law. The Bible is clear about this in Psalms 1:1 “Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly...” No matter how rich or successful an ungodly person is, if you take counsel from him, you will lose your money or position somewhere along the line.

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from ignorance that leads to unbelief. Holy Spirit, help me to know the Father and the Son as I study my Bible henceforth in Jesus’ name. Amen.
