Where are the engineers in the house? Abeg, I need you guys. Since Nigeria has decided not to do anything about electricity I have decided to generate my own electricity by investing in a generating set for my factory.

Guys I need info diesel consumption for a generator with the attached specification. Consumption per hour with load and without load would be appreciated.

So I did a Google search and i came across the following.

If a 250kva generator consumes approximately 15litres of diesel per hour then It is fair. But I know circumstances have to be perfect to achieve this. Weather, prompt servicng as and when due etc.

Having this in mind I did my calculations and set consumption at 20litres per hour.

I still would like to know, if 20litres per hour is fair?

its not a question of being fair. it more of if your business can afford 20litres deisel per hour.
and even if your business can afford it, do not invest in a second hand power plant, because it will surely fail you. Go for tear rubber with up to 2 years warranty. and if i were in your shoes, i wouldn't try manufacturing in Nigeria. i go waka go ghana.
