Our client is a FMCG operating retail outlets all around Nigeria. They specialize in the wholesale distribution of home sales electronic products. They are currently in need of an accountant in Uyo.
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Branch Accountant Uyo
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for accounting and benefits administration.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Financial and Operating Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
1. Review payables and receivables for accuracy;
2. Serve as liaison between branch and funding sources regarding billing issues;
3. Manage accounts payable and communications with vendors;
4. Process accounts payable weekly;
General
5. Prepare monthly budget reports for clinical programs;
6. Prepare and assist with annual audit;
7. Maintain manual and automated accounting records;
8. Enter accounting data into the computerized system to update and maintain this system;
9. Maintain procedural requirements to facilitate entering and processing data in the computerized system;
10. Assist in preparation of various monthly, quarterly and year-end reports to State and Federal agencies;
11. Maintain fixed assets list and depreciation schedule;
12. Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts;
13. Responsible for journal entries relating to daily operations and month/quarter/year end closing;
14. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Financial and Operating Officer
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Attention to detail and strong critical-thinking skills;
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field;
3. Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
4. 2+ years of full cycle accounting;
5. Effective language, punctuation, spelling and communication skills;
6. Ability to type 40 - 60 words per minute;
7. Computer skills with knowledge of various software including but not limited to, data bases; spreadsheets, and word processors;
8. Ability to use sense of hearing for telephone contact with employees and vendors;
9. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain customer and employee confidentiality;
10. Ability to work within the framework of a management team.
