A philanthropic body known as Intafact Hero's Foundation has restated its resolve to further map out measures that would strengthen the economy and give financial freedom to the youths in the country.

This was disclosed during a press briefing to announce the flag off of the 2nd edition of the Intafact Hero’s Foundation Kickstart Programme, at the company's compound, Onitsha, Anambra state.

Speaking during the event, the General Manager INTAFACT Beverages Limited, Mr. Godwin Oche said that the programme was aimed at creating and developing a culture of entrepreneurship among our young people, by promoting business skills, managerial awareness and material support, specifically through.


Mr Oche noted that the programme would directly impact on the youths and consequently grows the economy bearing in mind the current economic situation, geared towards reducing unemployment as it would help the youths to bring their innovative business to life.

The Manager stated that the programme would also develop complete business skills training and Provide business grants as a start-up capital for new businesses, Grants support expansion of existing businesses and as well Provide post investment support.

He maintained that this year's edition would witness expanded largesse beyond the five eastern states, saying additional states, such as Delta, Edo and Benue would be added to accommodate more youths and give them financial respite.

Stating the modalities for participation, Mr Oche stressed that " the call for entries for the 2017 edition will commence from the 20th of March – 28th April 2017. It is open to enterprising youths between the ages 18 to 35 years. Applicants can apply through the Intafact Hero’s Foundation website www.herokickstartnigeria.org to download the application forms and upload their business proposals or the designated centers across the participating states"

He revealed that the applicants would be trained on business rudiments via a combination of high impact interactive teaching after which they would develop and submit their business proposals, adding that they would be judged based on the strength of their business proposals by their pool of judges and the applicants with the best proposals would be given seed capital to either start up their proposed business ventures, or expand existing ones.

"What we expect from the applicants is the potential to develop winning business plans that will create, identify, and evaluate viable venture opportunities. Applications received will be screened rigorously by experts from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University School of Business.

"The applicants who submit outstanding and implementable business proposals are shortlisted for training, undertaken by the Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University and experts from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University School of Business.

"For prudent business management and good returns, the new beneficiaries will be closely mentored and coached over the next one year. The final winners will be revealed at an award ceremony which will be held later this year." He added.
