How Far Do You Think Leicester City Will Go In The UCL? by nairascores: 9:49pm On Mar 15, 2017 |
Leicester City made history on Tuesday night at the King Power Stadium as the Foxes qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in what has been an impressive campaign in Europe's premier cup competition. The second leg of their round 16 clash with Spanish side Sevilla was billed as the biggest game in the small club's history and the club players totally rose to the occasion to deliver a big 2-0 victory over the winner of the last three editions of UEFA Europa League (UEL) thereby winning 3-2 on aggregate having lost the first leg 2-1 in Sevilla three weeks ago. The Leicester City players who were aware of the huge task ahead started on the front foot against their Spanish opponents just around 24 hours after Craig Shakespeare was announced as manager on a full-time basis until the end of the season having been the caretaker manager for a few weeks since the sack of title winning Italian manager Claudio Ranieri. The home side didn't reap the rewards of their bright start until the 27th minute when captain Wes Morgan somehow guided home Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez's free-kick to become the first Jamaican to ever score in the UCL. The goal was what Leicester City needed to turn the tie in their favour as a result of the away goals rule and the kept things tidy at the back to good effect until the ..................http://nairascores.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=145&sid=7903110e04e4e6f5b3bfe45b2fa57c03 How far can Leicester City go after their latest heroics? Leave Leicester City matter! They are the most unpredictable team in the modern football age. They normally swim against the current. They stunned EPL last season and then came to UCL as underdogs and their succcess story continues. I am not predicting. I just want to wish them qualification to the next round (semi-finals). Don't you think they are the strongest team in England at the moment? Imagine Monaco eliminating Guardiola's Man City and Leicester eliminating Sevilla, Europa league defending champions for three times in a row or Arsenal being humbled to whooping 10-2 aggregate win, or Tottenham exitting the CL at group stage. Or what do you have to say about Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool that couldn't even make it to the group stage? #IstandWithLeicesterCity |
