It was our first ever 'Started out calmly Then it became heated Gradually His eyes got red He was blazing with fury I was irritated And I did respond slyly Then I heard a clap But it wasn't really a clap Two palms didn't strike themselves So change the see to hess A thick graft of brawny phalanges Smacked bliss out of my rosy cheek It felt frenzy at first Like a bell was ringing in my ears My vessels pulsed like they would burst And life seemed everly blur Stars still hovering around me I picked my bag and made to leave His softened frame blocked my way Soberly, he began to plead Without a word I walked away Lest someday he'll make me bleed Once beaten, run for your life my dear Is a quote I once told a friend A slap before saying "I do" Means flowers on my tombstone for honeymoon That's if I last long enough for a wedding party Cos no matter what, a gentleman never hits a lady... |

Nice write up with an interesting subject matter.
The emotions embedded in each line is superbly placed. |
