Following the actions from Match day 12 & 13 of the 2016/17 NPFL season which brought about some incidents capable of tarnishing the image of the league, the LMC was quick to come out and impose sanctions on the guilty parties.

Plateau United's goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye was charged for breaching the LMC framework & rules during Plateau United's Match day 12 clash against 3SC in Ibadan after he displayed behaviors capable of inciting others through verbal alterations with some fans of 3SC.
