The reproductive system of a woman is built in such a way that the vagina contains acid. The acidity of the vagina serves as a protective system to fight germs and other unwanted diseases that tends to enter the womb. During fertilization, the sperm must undergo several processes and beat several hurdles before it can find its way into the egg of the woman in the womb. The survival of the sperm after this processes determine when a woman gets pregnant.

This is the more reason it is advisable for men to boost rich sperm count. However, many persons do ask the question, "Can't one strand of sperm cell fertilize with the egg of a woman and cause her to be pregnant"?
