Without beating around the bush, the business is all about organising "preparatory examination" on Mathematics for students that are about to write waec amd neco exams.

As we all know, most student find it difficult in passing this subject with ease.

Due to this, up to standard questions have been carefully crafted out and solved one by one to serve as quick and comprehensive revision for students.

How it works:
All interested students will write the preparatory exam after which their scripts will be marked amd be given to them back. Then, then solutions to the examination will be given to each students for proper correction and revision.

Your responsibilities as a tutor:

* Supervision of students during the examination
* Scripts marking
* Giving out the solutions to the students which shall     be sent to the teacher.

Question
If 2x -y = 5 and 3x + y = 10. Find the value of 4x + 3y?

Solution
2x - y = 5
3x + y = 10
Solve simultaneously
2x - y = 5.........eq 1
3x + y = 10......eq 2
Add eq 1 and 2 together
2x - y = 5.........eq 1
3x + y = 10......eq 2
.......................
5x + 0 = 15
5x = 15
Divide both sides by the coefficient of x
5x/5 = 15/5
x = 3
To find y, put x = 3 in any of the equations
Using equation 2
3x + y = 10.......eq 2
3(3) + y = 10
3×3 + y = 10
9 + y = 10
Collect the like terms
y = 10 - 9
y = 1
Therefore, x =3 and y = 1
To find the value of 4x + 3y, put the value of x and y in the expression
4x + 3y
= 4(3) + 3(1)
= 4×3 + 3×1
= 12 + 3
= 15.
