Music star and Haitian legend, Wyclef Jean took to his Instagram page to share a video of deputies of Los Angeles Police Department handcuffing him for mistaken identity.

Narrating the ugly scene, he wrote:
'I was asked by the police to Put my hands up. Then I was told do not move. I was instantly handcuffed before being asked to identify myself and before being told why.
In the process, I said my name and told them they have the wrong person. They proceeded to ignore me and I was treated like a criminal. I am sure no father wants his sons or daughters to see him in Handcuffs especially if he is innocent. As someone who has law enforcers in my family, I was appalled by the behavior of the LAPD.'

Although, TMZ reported that Wyclef Jean and two female passengers, one of them his manager, were pulled over by L.A. County Sheriff's deputies around 1:30 AM in West Hollywood.

They said his vehicle matched the description of a car used in an armed robbery right around the same time, in the same neighborhood and Wyclef was wearing a red bandana also matching the suspect description which led the deputies detaining and handcuffing him for about six minutes.

However, Clef and his passengers were released only after the deputies realized there were no women with the real suspect who was later apprehended same day.

Police brutality is a crime but we see it as a norm in Africa, especially in South Africa and Nigeria. Its high time the people rise up to educate them on the sole aim of their job which is to uphold the law, protect lives and property. Though what they do these days is bend the law, destroy lives and collect properties!
I am not saying they are totally bad but they need to flush out the bad eggs!!!!!
