Facebook activates Safety Check after Westminster Bridge terror attack.

Facebook has activated its ‘Safety Check'tool for the Westminster Bridge attack – allowing friends to see if folks are affected.

The tool allows Facebook users in the area to inform friends they're safe automatically, and users are given a set of friends who might maintain the area.

The tool has previously been used during events like the Orlando shootings and Paris attacks.

The tool was activated after having a policeman was stabbed and his apparent attacker shot by officers in a major security incident at the Houses of Parliament.

Around three shots rang out outside the Palace of Westminster after having a man ran through the gates into the front yard of the parliamentary compound apparently waving a knife.

Scotland Yard says the attack will be treated ‘as an enemy incident until we know otherwise '.

Two people were seen being treated on the floor in New Palace Yard amid shouts and screams.
