Investments Vs Liabilities Using Shina Peters And Jim Ovia As Case Study. by Eproperty1: 12:04pm On Mar 23, 2017
In 1990, Shina Peters built a house with N20 million naira; the same year Jim Ovia started Zenith Bank with the same amount. Today, you and I don't have a room in Shina's house but sure we might have an account in Jim's bank.

Shina's house was built in Iju Lagos and remains there till date. Jim's bank started in a corner and now has over 500 branches in Nigeria, and many international branches.

Millions upon millions transact business in Jim's bank daily.

Shina's house is becoming dilapidated. In 2015, he SPENT -more money to renovate the house and bought a Nissan Pathfinder with N10 million...additional liability, while in the same 2015, Jim's bank MADE a profit of N105.7 billion.
Zenith bank employs hundreds of thousands, and feeds their families. This is the difference between Assets and Liability. If you buy a car for N20 million today, in 20 years time, you will be ashamed to drive it.

On the other hand, if you invest that same amount in a lucrative business or in an asset {Real Estate}, It
may be worth billions in 20 years. (Jim Ovia is now worth $980 million dollars, with the official dollar rate of N320, that means he is worth N313 BILLION NAIRA because of an investment of N20 million).

In 1990, JIM OVIA was NOBODY, WHILE IN 1990 SHINA PETER is The STAR OF THE MOMENT,
IN 2016, NOBODY HEARD OF SHINA PETER WHILE IN THE SAME 2016 JIM OVIA is RATED AMONG THE RICHEST IN AFRICA!

(Spend the little money you have today wisely. By Investing in this Wonderful Real Estate Business TODAY And Your TOMORROW Is GUARANTEED).

Some people driving expensive cars today, are not aware that they are driving their future and the future of their children. Some people carrying iphone7 today, may not be aware that they are carrying their future. When you are young, don't spend money. Invest it. Every penny in your hand is like a seed, you can decide to eat it, or sow it. When you sow it, it will bear much more seeds later in future.

Let's get our facts right! There was no time in Nigeria that banking license was N20million not even in 1990!
The comparison is not fair because they are men with different skills and opportunities! It would have been fair to compare Jim Ovia with Steve Jobs or the founder of Econet (Ibrahim Mo).
All these comparisons are what is making people to commit suicide because the world is judging them as a failure when actually every man is to his own race!
At this point, I guess Sir Shina Peters should sue the writer of this story, the platforms that it was shared and whoever reads and believe SSP made a terrible mistake in his life

Nonsense post. You read something in social media and without crosschecking the facts you start doing half-baked analysis.

worldchanger7, it's rather your facts that aren't right and i think you should do your homework before exposing your ignorance and stop cooking up excuses for mediocrity: firstly, the founder of Econet is Strive Masiyiwa and not Ibrahim Mo. Secondly, starting bank in the nineties was as cheap as (or even less than) N20m, those who were grown enough to ask questions in that direction know it to be so...probably you were still playing hide and seek in the backyard with ur peers or wasn't even born yet, that doesnt nullify that fact nor justify your publicised ignorance (the internet gives you access to history and not just to social media, so use it well to get ur facts right broe)... and besides, N20m then was real big money. if you like sue the writer for shina peters, the truth cannot be anything but bitter

And who told you guys Jim wasn't building a house as at the time he started the zenith business or that Shina Peters wasn't running a business as he was building his house, all these ponzi schemes will just be bringing baseless comparism and the gullible ones will take this seriously with the thought that they have failed.

Has Shina Peters come to any of you for help before, if building his house makes him happy, so be it, people should focus on what makes them happy and stop comparing your lives to others. Am sure never imagined his business will blossom this much so even if you the read the process Jim used to make money and apply it to your life you are most likely not going to make as much as he did so live your own life and stop comparing

How many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts? I rest my case.
Invest wisely #Real Estate
Re: Investments Vs Liabilities Using Shina Peters And Jim Ovia As Case Study. by peterarc(m): 11:15am On Apr 03, 2017
i dont know how many ppl that became wealthy by investing in savings account but i certainly do know thos that opened financial institutions and almost all of them became wealthy...some tho mismanaged the wealth and became poor again and some even went to jail for financial crimes - those were just a character problems and could have been done better if they were sincere. But the truth remains that the financial sector is one of the most lucrative in the world for so many centuries. Now, dont misunderstand me finance cannot go without real estate - they work hand in hand that's why the new generation banks like zenith quickly started acquiring plenty of real estate after they got the cash. but what you should understand is that real estate is not just owning an expensive piece of property. the real question in real estate is: how much is that property bringing to you each month, for how long and how many times can the process and system be replicated and compounded? this is the real difference between jim and shina. Both of them are in real estate business. Jim did commercial real estate putting in it a system that if he works hard at will replicate money to infinity beyond his generation but shina did residential for Himself & Family ONLY Limited to last as long as he lives and can afford to maintain it by himself at least... that's the real difference broe - I'm into real estate, our company buys and sells land in vast areas too... but i'm entering into finance too because they go hand in hand, if not there's no future for what i do. hence, whatever you're doing now begin to look into how to create a self- sustaining system that can replicate and compound in the coming years if you work hard at it or rather still if you're gainfully employed and want to avoid conflict of interest, find someone to partner who is doing such so that as he grows you grow too on the sidelines without much of the effort and take what part belongs to you. this is often harder to do than to just thnk cos many ppl out there are either fraudulent or incompetent...belive it or not - that's the way it is

Now, one thing I tell everyone is learn about real estate. Repeat after me: real estate provides the highest returns, the greatest values, and the least risk
