It's a good development and should be sustain but my worries is why is difficult for prices to come down in Nigeria but very easy to escalate? Don't we have price regulatory agency in this country?

It will take time for the purchased goods at the current exchange rate to arrive the markets.
yes i know, but that will be the major cause for celebration for an average Nigerian.

This is good news but government should intervene or put measures in place to bring down the cost of items in the market. Then and only then will the poor man feel the impact of the much touted change.
the problem is with the citizens because they once capitalized on the high exchange rate and increased the price of the commodities but now that the dollar is low they still want to enjoy the exorbitant gain on those same commodities because of greed.

If you imported say toothpicks then at #215 = $1 per pack and sold for say #280. But dollars increased to #380 = $1 while you had some old stock, would you still continue to sell at #280?

If you do, where would you get the #100 difference (#380 - #280) to replenish your stock?

Do know that if you do not increase your price, other importers would buy up your stock, adjust the price and remain in business.

that's the more reason why you should be considerate those commodities you bought when the dollar was low and sold it when the dollar became high, but now the dollar is low.
