REVEALED: HOW BUHARI’S MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DR OGBONNIA ONU ALLEGEDLY RAN MAD IN 1992


A report of how Dr. Ogbonnia Onu allegedly ran mad after swearing an oath in a deity has leaked online to Ebonyitvnews Reporters.


In 1991, Dr Ogbonnia Onu during his electioneering campaign promises the people of Isu village in Onicha L.G.A of Ebonyi state, (when Ebonyi was under Old Abia State) basic infrastructures especially electricity if they should support him to be their first executive governor.


The report however reveals that the Community elders of Isu, forced Ogbonnia Onu to swear an oath before a mighty deity called IGBO-KPARANKU. In the oath, Onu promises to install electricity if eventually elected as a governor or he will ran mad for 21 days.


Prior to his emergence as the governor in 1992, Onu treated the agreement he signs before the deity with contempt, fails to install electricity in Isu village.


However, the community elders invoke the spirit of IGBO-KPARANKU deity which came after Onu in 1993 and he was said to have ran mad. The report digs-out.


To escape from the wrath of the deity, after seven days of mental madness, Onu’s kinsmen visited the deity, and an appeasement was made on his behalf.

Days later, after visiting the deity for appeasement , Onu embark on the installation of Wooden electricity poll in Isu village.



He did not complete this project before he was orchestrated out as the governor of old Abia state.



According to our reporters who visited Isu community for fact findings reveals that the dilapidated wooden poll install by Onu which was later made a feast and haven for termites was removed after 22years by Martin Elechi/Dave Umai Administration in 2014 ( though the construction is ongoing).

Ogbonnia Onu who is been born into the family of Late Eze David Aba Onu, Eze Adu of Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State in Nigeria has never done or executed any reasonable projects in his home town in Uburu. Uburu is a stone throw to Isu Village.
