Nice one, its really a big world. This post makes one understand that there is more to life than meet the eye. When you thought you have known enough about life, there are still countless things waiting to be discovered that have surprisingly been known by others. This attitude on nairaland of knowing it all and insulting others who criticises ones opinion is rampant, this is one major reason the Africans are backward. Don`t be surprise to see this thread get derailed instead of the users appreciating it.

PROUDLY ENTOMOLOGIST

We are faced with an interesting dichotomy. There is a wealth of information about insects, but it is known mostly to ‘insect scientists’ (entomologists). The public (non-entomologists or 99.99% of all people) has little knowledge about insects, and poor access to vital information about these important organisms.
Culled from encyclopedia of entomology 2nd edition

The number of insects on our planet and their incredible diversity of structure and function are mind-boggling. Insects live anywhere and everywhere. To a non-entomologist, most insects are indistinguishable from one another and simply look the way insects are supposed to look. Head, thorax, abdomen, six legs, and often wings, give little insight into what has contributed to the incredible success of these tiny animals. However, to one trained in the subtleties of six-legged
science, the physiological systems responsible for their varied lifestyles explain it all. Every ecological peculiarity of insects has a physiological basis, and to understand their distribution and ecological roles in varied environments, one must understand the systems that allow them to function so well.
Culled from physiological systems in insects by marc j. klowden (2007)

Insects are remarkable biological organisms. They are small enough to escape the detailed scrutiny of most people, but I have yet to meet anyone whom, once provided the opportunity to examine insects closely (through a microscope) is not completely amazed by the detail and complexity of these exquisitely designed (by natural selection) beasties. They are fascinating in function as well as form. Insects are the only invertebrates to fly, they are disproportionately strong, and their ecological adaptability defies belief.
Culled from encyclopedia of entomology 2nd edition

Advances in technology, particularly the introduction of chemical insecticides, have done much to remove the threat of insect-related damage from the consciousness of most humans. Insecticides are applied preventatively to avoid pre- and post-harvest damage to crops, to our dwellings, and to our landscape. This is an oft-overlooked but remarkable achievement that has increased stability in the supply and price of resources, and in the lives of resource producers. No longer are people faced with starvation or economic ruin due to the ravages of insects; in almost all parts of the world, the ready availability of insecticides can be used to prevent massive insect population outbreaks. However, we realize increasingly that this approach is not without its own set of health, environmental and economic costs, and alleviating dependency on insecticides, or making alternatives to insecticides more readily available, has assumed greater priority.

Exactly what you have started, but i will not patronize you.

Why is there always this wide assumption that God is all.good, if he is all powerful there is no way he can be all good cus good and bad exist in the contest of power

Everything has a time, the dinosaurs don't exist anymore, would u say God killed them off so we won't study them, its just as nature prescribe the world to be that's how it will always be, there is indeed a time for everything, man's time existing on earth MIT soon come to an end too. That there is the universal plan of God

Payments are expected to be made within 6hrs of choosing a package and proof of payment (POP) uploaded on the payment order icon for receiver’s confirmation.

Failure to do so a partner stands the chance of having his account blocked and all his accrued referrals lost.
NB we have zero tolerance for fake proof of payment (POP) as the society confirms partners account within 48 hours and passes judgment on the partners involved.
Fake POP is highly prohibited as defaulter will be seriously dealt with or banned from the society as the case maybe.

There are many reasons why we should study insects. Their ecologies are incredibly variable. Insects may dominate food chains and food webs in terms of both under a wide range of conditions, such as extremes of heat and cold, wet and dry, and unpredictable climates. Insects are essential to the following ecosystem functions:
• Nutrient recycling, via leaf-litter and wood degradation, dispersal of fungi, disposal of carrion and dung, and soil turnover;
• Plant propagation, including pollination and seed dispersal;
• Maintenance of plant community composition and structure, via phytopFood for insectivorous vertebrates, such as many birds, mammals, reptiles and fish;
• Maintenance of animal community structure, through transmission of diseases of large animals, and predation and paratization of smaller ones.
Finally, the sheer numbers of insects means that their impact upon the environment, and hence our lives, is highly significant. Insects are the major component of macroscopic biodiversity and, for this reason alone, we should try to understand them better.
