You could say we started off as enemies
Every word from your mouth always annoyed me
Seeing you everyday was like pouring sand in my soup.
As time went by
I shed the resentment slowly
Embracing the fact that you're just as human as I am.
Soon,we turned out to be great friends
I loved the moments we shared
We seemed to get others jealous of our friendship.

Before I knew it,you turned tiger on me
The first time you got mad was my fault
I swallowed my pride and apologised.
While others believed you were like electricity in Nigeria,
I still believed you were good
I made them see things from another angle.
You became yourself again after a while
We continued as wonderful friends
The teasing and laughing resumed fully.

Next thing I knew you were back to square one
You would snap at the slightest provocation
Even with that,I still believed you would never hurt me.
Alas! I was wrong
I soon became the one you vent out anger on
You would blame me for every single thing.
At first,I believed I could bear it,forgetting that I have emotions.

You chose to ignore that I am not made of plastic
After a while,I refused coming close to you
I convinced myself it was for our safety.
When you saw I had finally given up,
You begged me to come
You wanted things back to normal as did I.
After a lot of pointing fingers,we moved on.

I believed we had finally reached an agreement
You've broken it one more time
Screaming and banging doors at my face
I hope I won't cry my life out this time
You've taught me strength the bitter way
We may never return to how we were before
If I'm that horrible,forgive me
All I ask of you is very simple
DON'T PUSH ME ANY FURTHER.

If this one is cool,I'll look forward to writing real time on nairaland
