Apple not too long ago updated its iPad series with the iPad 9.7-inch and as lame as the name Apple gave it may sound, it really has a reason behind it. We are gonna look at how good the 2017 iPad as well how bad it is and that should explain the horrible name though it comes at a cheap price of $329.

The iPad 9.7 is the budget device out of the whole iPad series and that is a hint to the given name. To those of you that have no way of knowing a good iPad, the best way to tell explain to you is a comparison with the iPad Pro which is about $150 more expensive.

The first thing you might notice here is that the 2017 iPad is bigger that the iPad Pro and much heavier even though it comes at a generation where we use thin devices. What is happening is that the iPad 9.7 is using the iPad Air chassis which in turn saves Apple some bucks and you too.

The display is also budget, meaning that it is not laminated and therefore the 2017 iPad produces a poorer visual content and also a poor viewing angle which is due to the space between the screen and the touch pad.

Out of the box the iPad comes with iOS 10.3 and pretty fast when compared to the iPad Pro because of the A9 chip inside of it when compared to the A9x series in the Pro. The benchmark is quite close between the two especially when you remember the price it is selling for.

Comparing the Touch-Id though, the 2017 iPad is much slower. It is faster one time then slower another reminding us that it is the generation one Touch-Id. Remembering the price really gets this issue behind me and maybe you should too.

It takes time to process images when it comes to the camera and I think that has to do with the processor or whatever the issue might be. Also the optical image stabilization seems to wiggle around.

You lose the ability to attach a keyboard to the 2017 iPad with that 4 speaker setup and that’s all you get to miss though present on the iPad Pro.

Do you need an iPad and you don’t want to spend much, better get this one because it is the best for you and it’s not like it is poorly made or something but it is not to replace your iPhone or whatever device you carry around.
