Amongst the modern day top entrepreneurs, only one has been described as “the real Tony Stark“. He owns no suit neither is he a part of The Avengers.

He is simply a man with a vision and an uncommon determination to achieving that vision. His name: Elon Musk.
Elon Musk is one outstanding entrepreneur that has revolutionized the business world. A man of uncommon dreams and drives, he has challenged and changed the paradigm over and over again that he has been classified amongst the league of Alan Turning, Henry Ford and the legendary Wright Brothers.

The first thing we immediately notice about Elon Musk is that he is a man of vision. If we are to have a roll call of the modern visionaries, the list will be incomplete without Elon Musk. It is upon the strength of his visions that he has revolutionized the engineering world. Today, he is an icon of the businessman who is out to change things. He is responsible for so many inventions that many cannot even dream of possibly happening.





Likewise, you must also be an entrepreneur with a vision. Vision is not restricted to age, gender or race; it is a function of the mind. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can surely achieve. Do not just exist as an entrepreneur, be an entrepreneur that is out to change the world in your own way. Be prepared to break new grounds, to chart a new course for the existence of your business and your environment at large.

The man of many inventions
What do the following companies have in common: PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla and SolarCity? They all own their existence to Elon Musk. Elon Musk has successfully proven that an entrepreneur can be multi-directional. Of course, he didn’t just achieve all of this at once. He moved on from one stage to another. However, in all of Musk’s inventions, you will always find the drive to make things happen in every sector.


He started – now known as paypal.com – as a way to conduct electronic commerce as we know it. Most online transactions are carried out with PayPal and more countries are signing on. He was not just concerned with commence, he also had a vision to launch a rocket into orbit. This had never been done by a privately funded company; Musk was not one to balk at a challenge. instead, he founded SpaceX. Today SpaceX has almost $3 billion in investments from NASA, Google and Fidelity. He also delved into the automobile industry. In an age where most automobiles are heavily depended on fossil fuels, he found Tesla. An automobile company that revolutionized the electric vehicle and changed the public thinking about the performance of electric cars.
He didn’t stop there he kept on coming up with new ideas that Elon Musk has become a personal brand of innovation and evolution. He is the entrepreneur that is always interested in what is being done and how the society will be affected.



As an entrepreneur, you need to realize that your potential for growth is limitless. If there seems to be any limit at all, it is only a function of your mind. You need to constantly stay ahead of the time. You cannot afford to just follow the tide; you need to chart a course for yourself and your business. Your business depends greatly on how much you can conceive and create. No matter the industry you find yourself in, always try to be outstanding and create a niche for yourself.

Small voices can sing major keys
One myth starting entrepreneurs usually indulge themselves in is that you have to start at a high level to be highly successful. As we have seen from the story of Elon Musk, that is not true. Of course, your background will play a great role in building your business but that is not the most important thing. You simply need to have a mind that is visionary and a determination to succeed against all odds.
Elon Musk was born in Africa – somewhere in South Africa. By the age of 10, he had gotten his first computer and created his first game at 12. He continued making games and was able to make his first $500 from selling one of them. It wasn’t until he was 17 before he arrived on the shores of the United States. However, at the age of 19, he enrolled at the Queen’s University in Ontario is Canada. A scholarship from the University of Pennsylvania however brought him back to the United States. Inspired by Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, he began to focus on the potential of the internet, solar energy and space travel.
As an entrepreneur, one thing that must always be on your mind is making progress. Your present condition should not matter as much as where you are headed. It is true that your competition may have a solid base than you have, but that is no reason to fret. Like Elon Musk, you have one great potential – your mind. You can choose to be a visionary entrepreneur who will refuse to be bound by space, time or general notions.
The world is waiting for you. Engage the power of your mind and follow up with determination. Who knows, you might just be the next Elon Musk the world has been waiting for.
