Residents of Festac in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Lagos, are currently still in grief after a graduate of University of Ilorin (Unilorin), identified as Bayode Lawal, committed suicide by jumping into canal.

Bayode, a 2013 graduate of Industrial & applied chemistry, was said to have committed the suicide at about 6 pm yesterday, when he jumped into the canal from Festac link bridge.

It was learned that the ordeal to the suicide started from Mobil filling Station when Bayode, who was often referred to as Bayo, lay-down on the floor.

Eyewitness said that his friends who were with him at the scene beckoned on him to stand up, in order to ascertain what the problem was. After much plea, the deceased stood up and began to walk faster than his friends.
