2017 has been a remarkable year for the Nigerian women, with numerous of them glorifying the country's national identity pride globally.

Notwithstanding, this great feet didn't just kick-start this year, as history traces way back how Nigerian women have been able to navigate the country's pride in the continent and globally even in the midst of cases of gender inequality.


A pan-African bi-monthly magazine, New African Woman magazine, will be holding the second edition of the New African Woman Awards and Forum in Dakar Senegal on the 12th and 13th of April 2017. Ahead of the awards, the organiser of the event has released the list of nominees for the 2017 New African Woman Awards. This award celebrates and honours exceptional African women who have made a positive impact and contributions in their communities, and the continent at large, in the past 12 months.

The list shows Nigeria and East African giant, Kenya topped the list with 12 and 10 nominations respectively.


Among the list, comedienne, Emmanueela of the Mark Angel Comedy, Uche Pedro of Bella Naija.
