Governor Okezie Ikpeazu's visit to China, with a high powered delegation of Abia businessmen, artisans and government appointees has added a white feather to the industrial cum economic narratives of Aba nay Abia state.

In the course of Governor Ikpeazu's visit, a meeting was held with the chairman of the Huanjian Group, Mr. Zhang Huarong where a $1.5billion deal for the establishment of a shoe industry in Aba was brokered. Some of the terms of the agreement includes that Abia will provide the land and other investment incentives for the landmark project, while the Huanjian Group will fully fund it. This is one of the many gains of the Governor's official visit to the People's Republic of China, which is targeted to giving more boost and impetus to the economic fortunes of the State through attracting humongous foreign Direct Investment(FDI) to the shores of Abia State.

The Huanjian Group chairman quickly remarked that Governor Ikpeazu was the first governor to visit them. Certainly, this is what visionary and insightful leadership entails.

This new grounds breaking will leapfrog development in all facets, also quite commendable it is that our indefatigable and indomitable Governor Ikpeazu is working round the clock to ensuring the holistic development of our dear state.

This project is billed to assimilate over 10,000 people, in the form of direct and indirect employment thus greatly reducing the number of the unemployed youths in Abia state.

The Governor Ikpeazu's leadership should be applauded and given kudos for setting a pace and redefining leadership by taking derivatives of good governance to the highest radar and echelon. It is no more a tea party, the era of delivering promises on the field of social amenities alone, rather making frantic efforts at attracting Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) and improvement of our indigenous brands which are the best globally in the lexicon of administration world-over.

More benefits inherent in Governor Ikpeazu's giants strides also includes increasing the tax net thus improving our Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) and weaning our dear State from over dependency on monthly Federal allocations coupled with the ongoing massive infrastructural revolution in the State, which is one of the ingredients for engendering a business friendly climate and a bait for investors, both foreign and local, in addition to good legislations which invariably is the oil in the wheel of business.

Inarguable, Abia is being decorated with all the prerequisites for the attainment of being the acme of industrialization and thus becoming a masterpiece and a reference point for an industrial cum economic viable geographical entity in Nigeria and the west African sub region.
