inheritance practice in ishan land in Edo state is some what different also like the fact that when an ishan woman dies if she is married the corpse is returned to her ancestral home for proper burial.
For real when a man dies in ishan land the first son is expected to inherit everything the man owns and in some instances the wife or wives also but most times the first son is expected to inherit all his fathers properties and nothing will be given to his elder sisters or younger brothers or sisters.
even also if he has step brothers from the fathers other wives in as much as he is the senior son whether from the first wife or second wife or third wife the first son irrespective of who is the senior wife gets to inherit everything a 100% though he is expected to use the fathers wealth to care for the other children please NIRA landers what's your take on this custom

What in see here is that if the property of the man is too small and sharing it will be meaning less it is better it stays intact and controlled by the first son to help care for the famiky
