Part 1
I will like to share an experience about one hotel during a training event that took place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State during the month of March.
The trainer made a reservation on the 31st of March 2017. The reservation was for the following Monday.
On Monday, the guest checked in around 8:00AM. Later, the trainer found out that a wrong room (though of same price) has been allocated to the guest. Complaints lodged, one hotel supervisor made a switch to a suitable room.
On the same day, trainer paid for additional 3 days. But on Wednesday, hotel management started to demand for more money from trainee. Hotel reception claims that the 4 days payments ends on Wednesday afternoon and that if the guests stays beyond Wednesday afternoon then an additional one day payment will have to be made.
Trainer insists that the 4 days are actually 4 nights and it ends after Thursday night and decides to move guests out of the hotel on Thursday evening.
Receptionist later locks both trainer and training team inside the premises of the hotel demanding additional one day payment. Cars and guests were prevented from going in and out of the hotel premises, since the trainer and his team were standing at the hotel gate.
Finally, complaints from other people forced receptionist to order opening of the gate. This was after receptionist has tried to force the trainer to pay half the price.
Hotel is at Chief Wonwu Avenue, Trans Amadi Industrial Layout.

Part 2
This particular hotel seems to be part of a group of hotels that operates by deceiving its unsuspecting customers to pay more for less or no service. To achieve this all the staff, from bartender to chef to room service are taught to tell lies.
The lies are usually meant to change rules so that the customers become liable at the last minute to pay more.
For example during the training, the chef ask the participants to pick whatever they wanted without warning them that extra money will have to be paid. After the orders, at the end of the day, the chef presented extra bills to the trainer. Surprised that a chef is now presenting bills as against the manager, the trainer asked to see the manager. The manager disappeared. Actually, the food bills have been paid for in advance and the trainer wasn't expecting any new food bills.
All through this, the chef and supervisor said that they felt the participants or training staff OUGHT have known!
Trainer in the interest of peace agreed after much debate to pay half of the extra bills.
