I Want To Be A Medical Doctor by stainless239(f): 11:59am On May 09, 2017 |
Hello pals, I need your help on this issue I am a registered nurse currently in LUTH for midwifery The issue is that I have always wanted to be a medical doctor but any plans towards that is truncated because of finance. Those who assisted me in school of nursing and partly in midwifery did so because I agreed to do nursing (parents inclusive). Please my dear friends, I would like to buy jamb form next year. Can I work and school? Should I forget it and concentrate on nursing? N.B Pls tell me everything I need to know. Don't hoard any information. Thanks. |

I don't think you can work as a nurse and school as a medical student in Nigeria. Mainly because your nurse salary may not even be enough to sustain you, not to talk of sponsoring your medical education, and also because once you start school you'll barely have time for any other thing, and class attendance is usually compulsory. |

stainless239:However that is not to say you should forgo your lifelong ambition of becoming a medical doctor. You can still look for someone to sponsor your education (and maybe pay back later), or travel abroad with your nursing certificate. There you can work (pay is much more in us, uk, Canada than Nigeria), save money & start medical school. |

stainless239:Time is subjective. A nurse abroad earns more than 5 times a senior doctor in Nigeria. Save for 2 to 3yrs and you should be ready to start. |
