The scholarships cover funding for full-time study leading to a degree at undergraduate or
Master's level in
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

They also give funding for accredited study periods of up to one year's length at recognised higher education institutions for students whose college or university has an exchange
agreement with a
partner institution in the UK.

Scholarships - starting for the next academic year - include funding for
tuition fees,
accommodation, travel
expenses to and from
country of residence and living expenses in the United Kingdom.

The scholarships awarded under the UK 9/11 Scholarships Fund have been made possible by the generosity of
individuals and institutions in the
United Kingdom who made donations to the World Trade Center Disaster Fund, a charity registered in England.

Who is eligible for UK 9/11
scholarships?

There are no restrictions on nationality or on
residence in other
countries. So Nigerian and All other African Students can apply for the scholarship program.

Are there any age
restrictions for
applicants?
There are no age
restrictions for applicants for 9/11 scholarships, and
there are no restrictions on mature students applying. But, in practice,
your suitability will be
determined by your
capacity to meet the
entrance requirements of
the institution(s) you
are applying to.

Serious potential
applicants are
encouraged to start
considering their option of applying for a 9/11 scholarship some 18months before the intended start date, for
example, while preparing for '0' level exam at secondary
schools in Nigeria, or while they are in their second year of
undergraduate study (if you are intending to apply for a Master's course).

How do I know whether I qualify for help under the needs criteria?
The UK 9/11 Scholarships Fund is required under
the terms of its
endowment to ensure
applicants
demonstrate need,
hardship or distress. This means that applicants must provide standard
information relating to
the income and assets of themselves or their
parent/guardian, as
requested in the
application form.
