I just thought of this lately.Engineering is a professional course and it should bE practised in its field during NYSC just like medical, pharmacist, dentist and law students that do their PPA in theirs.
Its time for COREN and NSE to wake up and do something about this. They should keep on pressing this for us. The Engineering profession shoud not be be denigrated but acknowledged and respected because we give life meaning. This is a slap to our face. Fellow engineering students what do you think about this. Shouldn't we be placed under FERMA, ministry of works or construvtion companies.

when studying engineering becomes more of praticals than incredible volumes of notes and materials

When engineering graduates can no longer teach ;Introductory to technology,Physics and other relevant sciences.

Nigeria and misplaced priorities. but in all i blame engineering representatives for not representing us well. in reality, there are no medical field that will exist without engineering. non! one mistake from engineering field will cause the death of many or cause serious havoc, but a mistake from medical fields will only affect one or very few without any havoc. Nigeria has no reason to post an engineering student in a primary school teaching environment not even in a secondary school environment. the preferential treatment is quite alarming. and coren and nse has really failed us.

Corper engineers are just book professionals that are green practical wise, in short they are not productive..
Medical corpers on d other hand are full blown professionals and can run certain parts of the health sector independently..
Medical corpers save d govt a lot of cost from employing same personnel post nysc eg a post nysc doctor is paid almost 300k/month whereas only a meagre sum is given to a corper doctor.
Corper engineers can only save govt such cost in places like teaching and not in their professional fields
Medical corpers are low in supply and high in demand, their number isn't always enough no matter how many are posted..
Corpers engineers are just too many, yet 'three' green...

So it's only engineers that should not be allowed to teach What of other professionals Self centered Idiota

Are Engineering corper not productive in FERMA. Ministry of works, power, housing and other related ministry that needs Engineering. FERMA should liase with Engineering corpers. We can save cost for govt also. In fact we save cost more than any other professions due to high cost of paying construction personnel.

That's just the main problem. But Engineering corpers teaching during service compound the problem more.
