The cost of a website can be broken down into following categories:

1. Domain Name
2. Hosting
3. Web Design
4. Extensions (Plugins & Apps)

To build a website, first you need a domain name, something like “afroserve.com“. This will be your website address on the internet and it is how you’ll be found online.

Next you need web hosting to store your files on the internet. Web hosting is your websites home on the internet.

Following is the web design; this is where wordpress comes to play. With wordpress, there are thousands of free website templates for you to use. However, if you want a customized design, you can purchase a premium template or have a professional design it for you.

Lastly, the extensions. You may want more functionality on your website such as contact forms, online stores, portfolios, etc. WordPress have a repository of over 40,000 plugins, freemium and premium to suite your requirements.

To have a self-hosted website, you have to buy your own domain name and web hosting.

A domain name typically costs #5,000/year for a “.com” and #3,000/ year for a “.com.ng”,while hosting with host.afroserve.com will cost you just #10,000/year

No matter the kind of website you’re building, at the minimum expense, your basic cost is #15000.
