There’s some good news for fans of Nigerian football as Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, has indicated his enthusiasm and eagerness to return to action for club and country after a debilitating back injury that sidelined him for close to two months.

Obi Mikel, 30, had to undergo surgery in London last month to correct the problem and has missed his Chinese club Tianjin TEDA’s last six games as a result.

The Eagles’ captain also sat out the team’s 1-1 draw with Senegal two months ago and hasn’t been included for the friendly games against Corsica and Togo in France later this month.

However, the former Chelsea man, on Saturday, posted a picture of himself in the gym on his Instagram with a note beneath that conveyed his eagerness to return to the pitch.
