Every blogger is aware of the term keyword density, understanding the best keyword density for search engine optimization is another issue. In this post, I will be explaining to you the best keyword density that will guarantee best seo result.

Most blogger are of the opinion that for getting the best out of Google, higher Keyword density is to be employed.

What is keyword density?
According to Wikipedia, Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization, keyword density can be used to determine whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

In the late 1990s, the early days of search engines, keyword density was an important factor in page ranking. However, as webmasters discovered how to implement optimum keyword density, search engines began giving priority to other factors beyond the direct control of webmasters. Today, the overuse of keywords, a practice called keyword stuffing, will cause a web page to be penalized.

Many SEO experts consider the optimum keyword density to be 1 to 3 percent; more could be considered search

Does higher keyword density boosts your ranking?
To some extent, higher keyword density boosts you’re the ranking in the targeted keyword. However, keeping your keyword density above normal makes you a victim keyword spaming or keyword stuffing. Remember, the essence of keywords is to tell Google what your content is all about.

What is the ideal keyword density?
I don’t think there is a magic number. Keyword density of any content largely depends upon the nature of the keyword and contents. There are some posts that more keyword density would make the post readability unfriendly.

For example, If in your content you are targeting long tail keywords, you will be be required to use less keyword density. But, if your content is targeting short tail keywords (one-word keywords), then you will need to use more keyword density.

Therefore, the ideal keyword density of a content is that which keeps your content natural and humanly readable not ignoring the search engines.

How to determine best keyword density of your new post
One best way to determine what keyword density to use in your new blog post is to do a Google search for the high-ranking similar blog posts that your new blog post is all about.

Try and understand what keyword density the writer have maintained in such post. Optimize your keyword placement better than theirs but keep the same keyword density and you are done.

It is important for you to understand that blog post with higher word count ranks higher because it gives room for more keywords. That is why a blog post with 1000 words and 2% keyword density rank easily higher than the blog post with 500 words with the same 2% keyword density.

How to Position main keywords
Main keyword positioning matters a lot. When you experiment with 2 different blog posts having the same keyword density of 2%. Let the main keyword appear in the first paragraph of the blog post.

In the second blog post, let the main keyword appear anywhere apart from the first paragraph. Certainly, the first blog posy will rank better. However, if the second blog post is in the site with high authority, then the game changes.

Therefore, below are some of the best places you can include the exact main keyword in your blog posts.
• Blog URL
• Blog post title
• The first paragraph of the blog post
• The last paragraph of the blog post
Other places includes:
• Include KW in one or 2 ALT tags of your images
• Anchor text of your backlinks
• Anchor text of your internal links

Please understand you are not under obligation to stress too much on the usage of keywords in your blog posts. Be original with your blog post and keywords will be automatically included in your blog post as you write from your heart. I have discovered that even new blogger who is not at all concentrating on keyword optimization can rank outstandingly in Google.
