Though many stories are been peddled around on the reason why the Lagos State government sack the Presiding Chaplain of Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa Lagos, Venerable Femi Taiwo sacked.

Details on the incident that led to the sack of the clergy has emerged. Report has it that Venerable Femi Taiwo was relieved of his position because the governor’s wife, Bolanle Ambode who is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was alleged to have stay on a queue to receive anointing oil on sunday, the day before the chaplain was sacked.

The Lagos state First Lady who was said to have been angry for not been given a preferential treatment during an anointing service storm out of the service afterwards.

A Church member who witnessed the incident however gave account that “The church had declared seven-day fasting after the chapel lost two prominent members.

“The Sunday service held 14th May 2017 was declared as anointing service and was supposed to end the fasting.

“The First Lady, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, was present with her entourage. She comes to the church once in a while.

“When it was time to be anointed, the cleric asked people to come forward, adding that it was optional. Three people stood at the stage to anoint people. They included the chaplain, the presiding chaplain and one other person.

“People started stepping out one after another. The governor’s wife, after some time, also stepped out and was anointed.”

In the sack letter, Venerable Femi Taiwo was asked to vacate his official residence within 24 hours, without any reason given for his sack.

According to a Minister of God, anointing oil is a personal thing. Nobody has the right or power to force anybody to take anointing oil. It is even ungodly to say a worshipper should take it by force. Even Holy Communion is voluntary; there is no protocol when it comes to that. When you are in the House of God, rich or poor, old or young, you are all equal before God.
