WHO THE CAP FITS?
READ TITUS 1:5-9
MEMORISE: Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. (1 Corinthians 4:2)

The issue of leadership in the house of God is not a light matter. God places enormous task upon the leadership of His people. Just like the shepherd would have to account for all the sheep in his care, so people in leadership in God’s work would give account of their stewardship. Leadership determines the fate of the followers and the entire organisation. It is the driving force of the economy of any society or nation. Without leadership, there can’t be direction. In all ramifications, it is leadership that drives all the forces behind the accomplishment of the targeted goals of the organisation.
Who is qualified to lead God’s people? What are the characteristics to be looked for in people before they should be considered for church leadership in whatever capacity? Remember, Paul stated the reason he left Titus in Crete, and guided him on how to appoint elders who would oversee the church. He highlighted the qualities that these must possess. What are they? (Titus 1:5ff)
Read Numbers 13. Advance reasons why God would disqualify those 10 spies. What, in your opinion, made the likes of Caleb and Joshua good leaders? What qualified the seven leaders in the early church chosen by the apostles (Acts 6)? What did Jesus say about someone who wants to be a leader? Write out and ponder upon some of the prerequisites for being a Christian leader (1 Tim 3:1ff; Tit 1:5-9). Are you sure your leadership is endorsed by God?

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, let me be faithful to You, all through my life.
2. Our leaders need Your help and grace to carry on with their God-given tasks. Oh Lord, equip them.
3. Every satanic influence on the leaders of God’s people should cease now, in Jesus’ name.
