Cesc Fabregas has refused to rule out a
possible transfer away from Chelsea in
the summer despite insisting that he
feels loved at Stamford Bridge.
The 30-year-old midfielder has endured a
frustrating campaign in Antonio Conte’s first
season in charge at Stamford Bridge despite
helping Chelsea win the title.
Fabregas found his first-team opportunities at
Chelsea to be severely restricted this season
and only started 13 Premier League games for
the Blues.
However, the Spaniard delivered whenever
called upon and scored five goals and made 12
assists for the west London side as the won
the title for the second time in three seasons.
Fabregas’ lack of playing time this season has
inevitably caused him to be linked with a move
away from Chelsea this summer.
And the midfielder did not give any
reassurances about his future when quizzed
about his situation after Saturday’s FA Cup
final.
Asked if he had ever considered leaving
Chelsea, Fabregas told the Evening Standard :
“Not necessarily, but in football you can never
say never.
“Anything can happen but I have always said I
feel very, very loved by the fans here and every
time I have played I have shown I can play at
the top level in this team.
“It is all about trying to change the manager’s
decision.
“Of course every player wants to play more, it
is in the genes of a winner and I am one of
them. I’m here for whatever the team needs
and I have shown that during the season.
