DEAL WITH FAMILY DESTROYERS
READ MATTHEW 19:3-11
MEMORISE: Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised. (Song of Solomon 8:7)

It is alarming the rate at which separation and divorce are rocking homes. Marriages are getting grounded on daily basis. The percentage of divorce cases, Christians’ inclusive, is more than that of any other case in the courts. In any case, that is not the will of God. He who created them made them male and female… Jesus talked about how Moses permitted the issuance of divorce in his time because of the people’s hardness of heart. One of the prophets through whom God spoke after the Israelites exile, shared the mind of God on divorce:
God hates divorce (Mal 2:13-16). Why can’t people hate what God hates? Natural tendencies, self-will, disobedience and rebellion are the answers. What must we do? Deal with destroyers of homes. How? Identify the destroyers and deal with them. Satan, geographical separation, unsettled quarrels, wrong foundations, financial incapability, sexual dysfunction, marriage to an unbeliever, perfectionist tendencies, etc., are home breakers.
Having identified these home destroyers, let homes be built on,
• The right foundation: The right foundation is God through Christ. Apart from Him no home can stand.
• Meeting the multi-faceted needs—sexual, physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, financial and physiological needs. Spouses must help meet each other’s needs and overcome life challenges together.
• Living by the principles of the Word of God.
• Compliment your partner, do not compete with him/her.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Save Christian homes from separation and divorce, oh Lord.
2. Nullify all the wars that the devil and his cohorts are waging against the marriage institution, oh Lord.
3. Lord, restore faithfulness into our homes and remove the tendency to cheat on each other from the heart of every spouse.
