Please able nairalanders, I try making pop corn in my home, but I face a challenge of it burning whenever I add sugar on fire. If I pop the corn without adding sugar while popping, it would come out white, but if I add sugar while popping, it would come out brown and burnt, pls what is the problem? I need help from those who know about it, thanks. And there is also a yellow semi liquid that I see those who make pop corn by the road side add to their pop corn when popping, pls what is the name?

pour oil in the pot first; just a little will do, heat up for a while and pour the corn in it, after a while you can add sugar and you can try to stir too. it'll come out pretty fine.
