A Nigerian resident in Luanda, the Angolan capital has been reportedly murdered in his apartment the Nigerian Tribune can report authoritatively. According to a source close to the Nigerian Embassy in Luanda, Obiorah Obi, from Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, was murdered on Wednesday.

According to the source, the murderers stormed the residence of the 28-year-old Nigerian and shot him several times. It was gathered that after killing the young man, his assailants took to their heels and since then no trace of them by the security agencies in Luanda.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that the Nigerian Embassy had reported the incident to the Angolan government which promised to carry out a detailed investigations into the incident. A top official of the embassy who confirmed the story on condition of anonymity said that the murder of Obi was a continuation of hatred being shown to Nigerians resident in Angola. A similar report, the official said, had been made to the Federal Government.[/b]
