As bad as kidnapping and the death penalty accompanied with the act is, this evans story has put tremendous pressure on a lot of youths who have no control over their lives to start considering kidnapping as a job.

The media so painted and spread it to the point that it looked so enticing. People were even suggesting that Evans would have stopped after collecting million dollars four times forgetting that one kidnap experience can be a trauma of a lifetime for the victims

Now this is what the government should do.

Just like the media was so saturated with the evans story, the government should initiate and saturate the media with a very strong campaign against kidnapping. All stations and media houses should be made to broadcast it too. Convictions of culpable persons should be fast-tracked by the court and Punishments for kidnapping should be aired all over the nation including the execution of the kidnappers.

This will go a long way to deter a lot of youths.
