Anti-narcotics police officers arrive at the apartment in Nyali, Mombasa on June 23, 2017 where the heroin was

Officers from the Anti-Narcotics Police Unit have Friday morning arrested two Nigerian nationals in Mombasa found with 1.5kg of heroin estimated to be worth Sh4.5 million.

The arrests followed a raid in an apartment in Nyali.

Mr Chukwu James and Ms Gageche Gold Patience were arrested as they were packing the drugs in readiness for a trip to Brussels in the morning.

Police say the couple had concealed the narcotics in a suitcase and was destined for Brussels.

Sources told Nation that the drugs are suspected to have originated from Tanzania.

The police are expected to issue a formal statement later in the day.

They'll keep nabbing them in groups of twos, fives, dozens, scores etc untill they gain sense and do something worthwhile with their lives instead of peddling drugs chasing fast money which comes with either the death sentence or the long jail time packages undecided
