Today is marked as international widows day, by United Nations. It's a day set apart, to address the "poverty and injustice faced by millions of widows and their dependents in many countries".

Widowhood can occur as a accidental status, since death of a husband can occur at any time. No thanks to events, that are beyond preventive control. Widowhood can also be be looked forward to, since no husband lives forever.

Poverty and injustice, are human miseries that can overwhelm significantly, to the point that a once happy life, can completely become sadly pitiable.

A combination of Accidental death of a husband, a completely dependent wife and heinous cultural practices, are the variables that will predict, a miserable Widowhood with constancy.

I believe that the most effective antidote to poverty and injustice, is the attitude of being responsible for one's life. In life, it's your responsibility to design, create, protect and sustain your happiness.

Widows who are suffering from accidental and sustained poverty and injustice, are women who have the mentality of hanging the responsibilities of their happiness on everyone, except themselves.

No woman, who has her job, personal assets and investment, have two kids, supports the husband to have immediate and future plans for the family, and maintain interdependent relationship with her husband, can ever experience accidental and sustained grand miseries, that are associated with Widowhood in Nigeria.

The lost of a husband to the cold hands of death, is grievous enough. Poverty and injustice, are certainly preventable, only if you start planning your life, with all sense of responsibility.

WIDOW'S MISERY: AN ACCIDENTAL AND SUSTAINED EXPERIENCE(2)

I can consciously and willfully, withhold my empathy for certain folks, who by their informed choices, plunge their lives into poverty, in the most stubborn attitude.

But this act of indifference, become impossible most times. This impossibility of withholding empathy, is caused by the fact that this accomplices and perpetrators of the act poverty creation, bring in innocent children, into their mess.

Wretched widows, are the obvious depiction of the horrible collaboration, that perpetuate poverty. No single man, who is irresponsible, lazy, foolish, petty and daft, can create poverty for innocent children, without the active collaboration of another indulgent and crude woman.

When a woman agrees to marry a man, with the following characteristics:

* absence of basic intelligent thinking
* no viable and sustainable source(s) of income
* no sense of prudence
* delight in irresponsible sexual behavior
* irritated by idea of "career/financially independent woman"
* opposed to having two kids, when he can't provide for one kid
* insist that family planing, is never his shared responsibility
* goes raving mad, when advised on legal arrangement for his family,

Such a woman, is a vivid example of an accomplice and perpetrator, in the act of creating poverty and injustice, in the event that such man dies.

No cultural practices, can force poverty and injustice, on a woman, that tells a man with the attributes above, to get behind her, in the very way Christians tell Satan to get behind them, when such man comes with marriage proposal.
