An LPG refilling plant is going up illegaly along Library Avenue in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state. It is situated around the GRA with a huge residencial population. Its a time bomb in wait.
Its believed to be constructed by BASUMOH GAS, who has had previous pulldowns due to communities resisting such dangerous construction.
The goverment agencies responsible for LPGas plant construction have not issued any building permit, though they are not stopping hence the believe they must have been bribed.
The gas plant stands just behind a hospital, with residencial buildings all around. The plant has two huge storage tanks of a total capacity of about 80Tons of LPG. The Awka LPG fire is still fresh in our mind, not to mention the collapsed church building in Uyo that took lives.
The DPR, FIRE SERVICE, POLICE, IKOT EKPENE TOWN PLANNING have all sold out the very people they are to protect.
BASUMOH GAS source of funds should be questioned. He could be involved in laundering money for corrupt public office holder.
A stitch in time saves nine.
Please spread the news and save lives.
