Job brief

We are looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee our organization’s book distribution and marketing operations. You will be the company’s second-in-command and responsible for the efficient running of the business.

The COO role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting only to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). You’ll have to maintain control of diverse business operations, so we expect you to be an experienced and efficient leader. If you also have excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics, we’d like to meet you.

The goal of the COO position is to secure the functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities
 Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
 Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
 Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
 Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance etc.)
 Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
 Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
 Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance
 Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
 Manage relationships with partners/vendors

Requirements
 Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or relevant role
 Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
 Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development particular in the book marketing
 Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
 Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
 Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
 Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
 Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
 Minimum of B.Sc./HND in Business Administration or relevant field


Job Title: Head of Operations

Job brief

We are looking for a professional Operations Manager to plan, direct and coordinate all our organization’s operations. You will be responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies.

Responsibilities
 Ensure that all activities are conducted in correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with the company’s processes and
procedures
 Chalking out or improve operational systems, processes and best practices that guarantee organizational well-being.
 Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives
 Examine financial data/statements and use them to improve profitability
 Perform quality controls and monitor production
 Maintain records and manage Recruit, train, supervise and appraise human resources
 Supervises Administration, Protocol and Logistics operations
 Cater to clients’ or personnel’s concerns

Requirements
 Proven work experience as operations manager
 Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management

Responsibility
 Overseeing all aspects of corporate book marketing programmes
 Supervising Corporate Marketing Associates
 Exercise editorial, marketing, and administrative responsibilities.
 Developing promotions for direct-to-consumer and digital initiatives.
 Serving as project manager for major corporate events
 Organize seminars, workshops and trainings
 Serving as project manager for corporate marketing initiatives book reading competitions and promotion activities
 Supervising Sales Team Leaders in the 36 states and FCT in Nigeria
 Supervise Social media marketing campaigns.
 Sign on and management new vendors
 Serving as liaison with outside partners

Qualifications & Education:

 B.Sc/HND degree required
 Event marketing experience is strongly preferred
 Must have 2+years of educational/event marketing
 Email and social media marketing experience preferred
 Adept at Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
 Professional written and verbal communication skills
 Proven project management and presentation skills
 Experience in effectively implementing campaigns across all of the promotional mixes
 Superior planning and organizational skills
