POSITION DESCRIPTION FABRIC CUTTER Job Title: Fabric Cutter Department: production Department Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor SUMMARY: Position assists with all cutting needs to meet daily production objectives. It also may assist other production line employees as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To help in the handling and cutting of fabric patterns/raw material according specifications/lead instructions. 2. Understand the cutting dynamic in order to anticipate the next step and react accordingly 3. Pay attention to details to guarantee precise cuts and measurements 4. Operate cutting tools safely and efficiently. 5. Read and understand information in production line tags 6. Continuously Inspect fabric pieces for possible damage or defective material/seams 7. Communicate effectively 8. To handle material safely and efficiently to avoid damage and keep good flow in the production line 9. Must keep area neat and clean in accordance with 6S leadership and standards/goals 10. Adhere and comply with all company safety requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Prefer one to three years manufacturing/construction experience TECHNICAL SKILLS Ability to measure accurately (linear dimensions) Ability (basic knowledge) to add, subtract, multiply and divide (Lbs., Ft. Inch.) PEOPLE SKILLS Develops relationships and achieve common goals. Be able to work as team member To accept criticism and improve PROCESSES AND QUALITY Consistently shows concern for quality, accuracy and completeness of work activities. Is open to change; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. Offers ideas on improving task process. RESULTS Pushes for improved results in own performance. Works to meet established expectations, maintain performance levels, and pursues objectives with energy and persistence. Anticipates potential problems and work to overcome them Consistently achieves established expectations through personal commitment. LANGUAGE SKILL Must be able to read speak and write English (basic knowledge) Demonstrates effective verbal skills Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form Ability to count and measure OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to distinguish colors ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the attendance policy stated in the company’s employee handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
