Does Solar Work When There Is No Sun?

Solar Panels generate the most electricity on clear days with abundant sunshine however on

a cloudy day Solar Panels still work and can produce 50 -75% of their rated capacity.


Do Solar Panels Work at Night?

There is no sunlight during the night, therefore, your Solar Panels are not generating any

power. However, the excess energy generated during the day is stored in your batteries and

during the night your inverter automatically draws from this energy to provide you with a

continuous energy supply.

faulty and if so what is required to fix it

- If faulty, we will repair your system 72 hours after our initial site inspection

- If your system is not fully repaired within 5 days of your initial complaint, we will

How many appliances can the 1kw power and for how long?

Provides between 4kWh and 5kWh of electricity a day. The energy is sufficient to provide power for 24 hours a day. It powers all basic loads including Lights, Fans, Television, Small fridge (100 watts), Sound system and Gadgets, Small Fridge.

How to Calculate The System Size Required?
STEP 1
Calculate the daily energy consumption of your key appliances
CALCULATION: Device wattage x no of hours used daily =watt hours
e.g. 125 watt TV used for three hours a day consumes 375 watt-hours

STEP 2

Convert the watt hours to kilowatts
CALCULATION: Divide the watt hours by 1,000
e.g. TV consuming 120 watt hours uses 0.120 kWh per day (120 watt hours /1000)

STEP 3

Work out the system size required
- CALCULATION: Divide the total number of daily kWh used by all your appliances by
the no of peak daily sunshine hours at that location.
e.g. Lagos = 4.5 hours daily peak sunshine hours. So a home consuming 18 kWh per day
would require a 4KW system (18kWh /4)
