the foundation of trinity was laid in this meeting. at that time, their was a massive proliferation of Christian movements and doctrines. there was the need to reconcile all these differences and create a single church and a particular doctrine. one of the main issues was the relationship between God and Jesus. the Arians argued that Jesus was simply one of the creation of God. the Alexandrians felt that Jesus merely being a creation would compromise the Message or Gospel and the importance of the sacrifice.
the Alexandrian view was that Jesus was of the same substance as God, yet not a creation of God. the Alexandrian view was accepted and the Arians were persecuted, exiled or executed. these were similar to the power struggle between Stalin, Rykov, Kamenev and co.
The early church relied on the same swords that persecuted them to spread their Gospel and destroy rivals.
