Please Judge This Case With Equity And Fairnes, Who Is To Quit His Job? by Nobody: 4:37pm On Jan 29, 2010
Just last week there was chaos and misunderstanding between a man and his wife. There was a problem, as a result of that thier children and family needs proper attention. And one person among the husband and wife has to quit his/her job to put things in order. The man's salary is N45000 while the wife's salary is N120,000. In your own opinion, who is to quit his/her job?

The man.
However, he can get some kinda of something doing that will still give him time to attend to the kids.

Don't you think it will make the wife to disrespect the man? because automatically the woman has become the breadwinner and head of the family. That's transfer of responsibity because of money.

Respect is not about who makes most money

@poster
only an insecure man would think that if his wife is the breadwinner then she will disrespect him.
she was already making more money than him anyway so whats there to talk about? this question shouldnt even have come to the table in this union. . . . . .

any husband out there who earns 45k and expect his 120k earning wife to resign is a damn fool to say the least and he should think about the family before his own selfish insecurities.

instead of wasting time talking trash, he should educate himself so that he could get a better paying job.

Tink its still very possible for the couple to strike a balance between their jobs and the kids. In d nigeria we are today, 120k is not even enough to meet family needs,not to talk of wat the hubby earns.To avoid arguements and troubles on who shud quit his job,and to avoid dependency on one person for the family needs,the couple just have to meet-up with both demands.its co-operation they need!

poster u did not say much but u dwelled on the monetary aspect only. This is not supposed to be so. before saying the man should quit did u ask about the job security, the woman might earn more for now but the job sevurity is not there for her. Most civil servants dont earn that much but cummulatively what comes to them is more/than their salary. so my advice will be that they should try and see how they can workout things. no matter how tight their schedule is one has more time than the other. they should support themselves because every kobo they can earn is needed by them. so they should work things out among themselves.
