Anchor Insurance Company Limited has launched a product called ‘Anchor Loss of Employment Insurance Scheme’ for workers who lose their jobs.


Chieftains from the insurance sector, banks, co-operative unions, the insuring public and employers of labours from different sectors were present at the inauguration of the AnchorLoEIS in Lagos.

The Chairman of the company, Dr. Elijah Akpan, noted that Anchor Insurance was well known for its innovation and creativity in providing tailor-made insurance products for the insuring public.

“Today, we have an important opportunity and a need to address a real kitchen table issue for families all across this country. We have an opportunity and a responsibility to innovate and create an insurance scheme to protect employees’ employment income; and in doing so, to provide a measure of financial stability to millions of Nigerians who may be laid off in the most difficult economic time,” Akpan stated.

In her opening remarks, the chairperson on the occasion and President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Nike Akande, said the chamber had over the last couple of years collaborated with the insurance sector to promote best policies and practices that would be beneficial to the insuring public and the economy at large.

Akande stated, “The Anchor loss of employment insurance scheme is a welcome development as it seeks to protect employees from unforeseen circumstances, especially as it relates to job losses.

The Managing Director, Anchor Insurance, Mr. Mayowa Adeduro, promised that company would continue to introduce unique insurance products with outstanding benefits like the AnchorLoEIS to the insuring public.
